Heavy-Duty Diesel Truck Technician, A-Level
Maintenance and repair on every kind of commercial truck, in the shop and out on job sites. Troubleshooting, inspection, diagnosis, repair and overhaul.
Shop hours Mon to Fri
The work
- PM inspections, then fix what the inspection finds
- Brakes, steering, wheel bearings and the rest of the safety checks
- Shop repairs and field repairs at customer sites
- Read the truck's computer, follow diagnostic charts and hydraulic schematics
- Road calls and emergency breakdowns, sometimes after hours
- Keep a clean, safe bay that meets OSHA standards
What we look for
- Five or more years repairing heavy-duty trucks
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Arc and oxy-acetylene welding
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A CDL is a plus
All hires complete a drug screen, physical and background check, including a motor vehicle record review.
