Job Summary
We are looking for a Service and Operations Manager to join our team! Our mechanics perform maintenance and repairs on all types of commercial vehicles using a variety of tools and equipment. This hands-on manager position is responsible for coordination, scheduling and auditing of maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers. You will be involved in the hiring, training, and ongoing development of technicians to ensure that our highly skilled workforce is able to meet customer expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

- Oversees service and repair orders daily
- Drives profitability and productivity of the team
- Maintains Customer Satisfaction scores at or above company standards
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and ensures all work is performed in accordance with established safety procedures
- May assist in diagnosing vehicle problems
- May order parts and tools as necessary
- Oversees administration of warranty claims
- Works with upper management to make service department hiring and discipline decisions
- Sets schedules and assigns tasks to service department employees
- Reinforces company policies and adheres to company standards
- Encourages compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Provides General Manager with timely reports
- Ensures revenue and profit margin goals are attained
- Maintains effective employee relations
- Ensures mechanics utilize a computer to completes and maintains repair or work orders, part requisitions, submit time sheets, and other records or tasks as required
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with both internal and external clients.
- Must have the ability to simultaneously handle a large and diverse number of projects, tasks and issues with tact, cooperation, and persistence.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience managing employees in a truck repair environment
- Ability and desire to work in a positive, fast paced and high energy environment
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an equivalency diploma
- Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of employment and have a clean driving record
- Strong customer service and organizational skills required
- Computer skills, including the input of data into the fleet maintenance tracking database and reporting of performance and financials
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle record review
- CDL+ driver's license is preferred but not required
