Job Summary
We are looking for a Technician A-level to join our team! Our mechanics perform maintenance and repairs on all types of commercial vehicles using a variety of tools and equipment. This position is responsible for the entire maintenance spectrum including troubleshooting, inspection, diagnosis, repair, and overhaul to maximize the client's opportunity to maintain a safe, reliable and efficient vehicle fleet.

This position is responsible for the entire maintenance spectrum including troubleshooting, inspection, diagnosis, repair, and overhaul to maximize the client's opportunity to maintain a safe, reliable and efficient vehicle fleet.
Primary Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards, and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Performs proficient preventive maintenance inspections to diagnose and repair assigned vehicles and equipment; ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection
- Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other important parts to ensure that they are in proper operating condition
- Performs repairs both at shop and on field located job sites
- May be required to demonstrate proficiency in the use of modern diagnostic equipment
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs
- Must be able to follow diagnostic trouble charts, hydraulic schematics, use standard automotive tools, electronic diagnostic equipment, hydraulic pressure gauges, and flow meters
- Estimates time and material costs on repairs and requisitions new parts
- Test drive trucks to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
- Assesses structural damage and assigns needed repairs utilizing the most appropriate method(s)
- Performs service calls for emergency breakdowns and road service during and beyond routine business hours when required
- May change tires
- Operates both arc and oxygen/acetylene welding equipment
- Uses both hand and air driven power tools and other related shop equipment
- Adjust and reline brakes, align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and reassemble equipment
- Mechanics must utilize a computer to completes and maintains repair or work orders, part requisitions, submit time sheets, and other records or tasks as required
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an equivalency diploma
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience repairing equipment of the types noted above
- Must possess a valid driver's license at the time of employment and have a clean driving record
- Computer skills for the input of data into the fleet maintenance tracking database
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history and motor vehicle record review
- CDL+ driver's license is preferred but not required
